Scientific Co-operation agreement between the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) of Canada and the French National Research Agency (ANR) of France

The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) of Canada and the French National Research Agency (ANR) of France, hereafter referred to as the Parties, recognizing the key role science, technology and innovation play in economic and social development, as well as the potential advantages and mutual benefits of enhanced scientific and technological co-operation, desire to establish and promote close co-operation ties in the fields of life sciences, natural sciences and engineering.

The Parties have reached consensus as follows:

  • to promote joint research in areas of common interest. The scientific co-operation actions will be conducted by launching concurrent calls for joint research proposals.
  • to undertake any other activities for enhancing better communication and collaboration between scientists of both countries.

This scientific co-operation Agreement, drawn up in duplicate and in two languages (French and English), shall enter into force upon signing and be valid for a period of five years from the date of signing. It may be extended or amended by mutual consent of both Parties in writing.
