Celebrating Strategy for Partnerships and Innovation

New Chair in Design Engineering at York University

NSERC, the Lassonde School of Engineering at York University and Quanser inaugurated the new NSERC Chair in Design Engineering for Innovation in Markham, Ontario. This design innovation partnership between the Lassonde School of Engineering and Quanser will give students and researchers the opportunity to develop design-focused solutions to emerging global challenges. The Chair is held by Professor Alex Czekanski who brings extensive experience at the intersection of industrial and academic research.

The College and Community Innovation (CCI) Program National Announcement

The Honourable Ed Holder, Minister of State (Science and Technology), together with Janet Walden, Chief Operating Officer, NSERC announced nearly $40 million in grants to colleges across Canada to support applied research and development (R&D) activities with industry. The grants will support 18 multi-year projects that focus on building local innovation capacity in key areas such as forestry, manufacturing, green buildings and wastewater treatment.

The projects are being funded through two grants, the Strategic Network Grants and Strategic Project Grants, administered by the NSERC.
