Standing and Advisory Committees

The Council is advised on specific policies and programs by two committees:

• Committee on Grants and Scholarships (COGS)
• Committee on Research Partnership (CRP)

COGS and CRP distribute funds to the various program elements and selection committees within their respective purview, in accordance with guidelines provided by the Council and within the funding envelope assigned to them by the Council. They also provide advice on and monitor programs referred to them by the Council and advise the Council on policy issues and possible mechanisms regarding support of the research base in science and engineering in Canadian post-secondary institutions. On occasion, these standing committees may be asked to make recommendations to the President on major grants and awards to individuals or groups.
