Diane Hébert is an independent practitioner who provides legal and related consulting services to leading organizations in connection with business and financial transactions, restructurings, process improvement, technology and intellectual property, governance, risk management and knowledge management.
From 1995 to 2005, Ms. Hébert worked for GE Capital as a senior executive, General Counsel, Transactional Business Process Manager, Chief Compliance Officer and Ombudsman. From 1984 to 1995, she held several legal positions with the BCE Inc. group, specializing in mergers and acquisitions, financings and international transactions. After being admitted to the Quebec Bar in 1982, she began her career with a major law firm in Japan.
Ms. Hébert holds a BCL (1980) and an LLB (1981) from McGill University, and completed the Directors Education Program at the Institute of Corporate Director’s Corporate Governance College, McGill International Executive Institute and Rotman School of Management (2005-06).
Ms. Hébert has served on boards of organizations involved principally in the education area. She is currently a member of the Board of L’Œuvre Léger au Québec and of its Homeless Recourse Committee.
Ms. Hébert serves on NSERC’s Executive Committee and the Independent Audit Committee.
