Louis Lamontagne is the President and CEO of LTL Global Innovations and Management, Inc., which he founded in 2009. He was recently appointed as Global Practice Lead for the Life Sciences in Canada by the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. From 2003 to 2009, he was President, CEO and Director of PainCeptor Pharma Corporation, a company that focuses on the development of drugs to treat chronic pain. He was President and CEO of Neurochem Inc. (1995 to 2002), a company he developed from a research concept into a successful publicly traded pharma with 80 employees and a product pipeline of five drugs. From 1992 to 1996, he was President and CEO of the Ottawa Life Sciences Technology Park. Before that, he held a series of senior research positions in government, academia and the private sector, including Group Leader of the Institute of Biological Sciences at the National Research Council Canada.
Dr. Lamontagne currently serves on the Board of Governors of Algonquin College and has served on the boards of directors of a number of organizations and companies, notably Chronogen Inc., Stempath Inc. and the Ottawa Health Research Institute, where he was also Chair of the Commercialization Committee.
Dr. Lamontagne holds a PhD in Immunology from McMaster University and a BSc (Honours, Chemistry), from Queen’s University. He held a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the School of Public Health at Harvard University. He has published many articles, holds several patents and has received a number of prestigious awards, including several business awards and the BioMedex Genesis Award for contribution to biotechnology in Canada.
Dr. Lamontagne is a member of NSERC’s Committee on Research Partnerships.
