Sudarshan A. (Raj) Mehta

Dr. Sudarshan A. (Raj) Mehta (PhD University of Calgary; M.Sc. University of Calgary; B.Eng., S.P. University, India) is a Professor of Oil and Gas Engineering and the Director of International Programs in the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering, Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary.

Dr. Mehta has received several awards of excellence, including the University of Calgary Petroleum Engineering Professor of the Year in 2005, the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Distinguished Achievement Award for Petroleum Engineering Faculty in 2004, and the Canadian Bureau for International Education’s Internationalization Leadership Award in 2004.

Dr. Mehta has been on a number of boards, including the Canadian Energy Research Institute (CERI); the Petroleum Society of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM); and the University of Calgary's International Education Council. He has also served as the Chair of the Publications Board of the Petroleum Society of CIM, and as a member of the Distinguished Lecturer Selection Committee of the SPE.

He has authored or co-authored over 300 technical articles, reports and patents.
