Michael Irwin

Michael Irwin has worked in various positions for 3M Canada since 1997. He was previously a Laboratory Manager and Senior Chemist in Corporate Research and Development. In 2005, he assumed the role of Executive Director, Technical Operations.

Dr. Irwin has served on numerous boards, including the Ontario Phonics Consortium, University of Western Ontario Technology and Commercialization, and the Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance.

Dr. Irwin holds a PhD and BSc (Honours) from the University of Western Ontario, where he received numerous post-graduate scholarships, including an NSERC Post-Graduate Scholarship and the Ontario Centre for Materials Research Graduate Scholarship.

He is Chair of NSERC’s Committee on Research Partnerships and a member of the Executive Committee.
