NSERC is pleased to announce the 2008-09 competition results for the Strategic Project Grants and the New Media Initiative.
NSERC awarded $18.4 million to 129 applications in the Strategic Project Grants and New Media Initiative competition. The competition success rate was 37 percent (a total of 352 applications were received), the second highest in recent years. New funding earmarked for four of the target areas (Advanced Communications and Management of Information; Healthy Environment and Ecosystems; Sustainable Energy Systems; and Competitive Manufacturing and Value-Added Products and Processes) contributed greatly to the increased success of applicants.
