Committees

NSERC's governing body is a Council composed of 21 distinguished Canadians. Grants and scholarships are awarded through a competitive peer review process that involves hundreds of volunteers who meet in selection committees to make decisions.

The Council is advised by various standing committees that are guided by a Peer Review Process.

The Executive Committee of Council exercises the functions of Council between Council meetings and acts as a planning, allocations, internal audit, and personnel committee.
