NSERC Industrial Research Chair in Teletraffic Demand Forecasting and Performance Analysis of Wireless/Mobile Communication Systems
Industrial Research Chairs Program
Senior Chairholder since 2004
The main goal of the Chair program is to advance knowledge in the area of teletraffic analysis by developing multi-level models for forecasting, planning, analyzing and assessing telecommunication systems. Specifically, we will develop tools associated with these models, and train future researchers for the telecommunication industry in order to always keep the industry in the forefront of development.
This will be achieved through the development of ground-breaking research activities in the area of forecasting and planning for teletraffic demand, mobility analysis for wireless communication demands, developing and evaluating channel allocation and hand-off schemes for providing seamless wireless communications for and beyond the third generation wireless systems, performance analysis of design of the future wireless communication systems, effective implementation of technology transfer of the resulting research work with commercialization as a very critical end result; and continued training of highly qualified personnel who are well-prepared with modern tools for the telecommunication and data networking industry.
