Collège La Cité
RISEHoP/LALLEMAND

In 2015, when RISEHoP, a start-up firm looking for an incubator space, approached Dr. Nathalie Méthot of the Centre for Access to Bio-Innovation Technology at Collège La Cité, she was happy to accommodate them. RISEHoP wanted to develop an innovative system for producing mycorrhizae—fungi that form symbiotic associations with plants, thereby contributing to their growth and health and improving agricultural crop yields. The dynamic partnership between RISEHoP and this centre has resulted, among other things, in the development of MyConnect®, an exclusive, sustainable technology for producing mycorrhizae that are pure, resistant and effective.

Joining forces, the applied research teams of La Cité, RISEHoP and, since 2019, LALLEMAND, have applied their scientific, technical and entrepreneurial expertise to produce and market a line of mycorrhizae-based products for agriculture in Canada and around the world.

From the outset, Méthot and her team have adopted a focus on solutions and an inclusive leadership approach that have guided all of their group’s activities. This partnership, developed in perfect synergy, is providing benefits to other projects, including enhanced applied research capacity in the field of agricultural biotechnology.
