The new mandate for all regional offices is to focus on NSERC's goal to connect and apply the strengths of the academic research system to build prosperity for Canada. Regional offices will:

• build awareness within the private sector
• increase the number of academic-industry partnerships
• increase the participation in NSERC's research partnerships and industrial scholarships programs
