Alberta Graduate Student Scholarships in ICT and Nanotechnology

This scholarship is automatically available to you if you are awarded an Alexander Graham Bell Canada Graduate Scholarship (CGS). If you are awarded a Postgraduate Scholarship (PGS) or you are not awarded an NSERC scholarship, the scholarship is awarded on a competitive basis. Vanier CGS recipients are only eligible to receive the research allowance.

What is the purpose of the scholarship?

The purpose of the Alberta Graduate Student Scholarships in ICT and Nanotechnology is:

  • to attract outstanding graduate students studying in ICT or Nanotechnology related areas to Alberta universities;
  • to support exceptional researchers; and
  • to develop internationally recognized research teams.

Are you eligible to hold a scholarship?

  • Students from any discipline may apply.
  • International students are also eligible.

Note: Automatic top-up requests apply only to the Alexander Graham Bell CGS Scholarships; others must apply on a competitive basis.

What kind of support do these scholarships provide?

These scholarships provide financial assistance to students working towards a master’s or doctoral degree in an ICT or Nanotechnology related field.

Value of scholarship

The value of the scholarship is shown above.

In addition there is a research allowance of:

  • For ICT Scholarships – $1,500/year
  • For Nanotechnology Scholarships – $5,000/year

Payment

The payment of the scholarship is released by your host university. The stipend amount is paid on a monthly basis and the research allowance is a lump sum payment.
