NSERC website will be unavailable for a few hours on Saturday, March 23. The tri-agency Financial Data Submission and Reconciliation System (FDSR) will also be unavailable during that time. We expect service to resume the same day.
Tri-agency financial administration
The Tri-agency Guide on Financial Administration was recently revised to reflect the participation of all three granting agencies—the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC).
Changes made to this year's guide supersede the last version (April 1, 2022) of the guide and take effect on April 1, 2023. The Summary of changes is now available.
The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) "the Agencies" have launched a new initiative called Renewal of the Tri-Agency Financial Administration. This new Guide is a reflection of the initiative and focuses on the following three key areas:
- Moving to a more flexible approach for the administration and use of grant funds, which will bring significant changes to the Tri-Agency Financial Administration Guide
- Renewing the Agencies' approach to financial monitoring reviews
- Increasing the effectiveness of the administration of grants
