The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) is pleased to announce funding of up to $21.45 million for a total of 13 training initiatives through its Collaborative Research and Training Experience (CREATE) program.

These training initiatives will benefit students and postdoctoral fellows by providing them training and mentoring opportunities in a collaborative setting to develop their professional and technical skills, preparing them for their future careers.

“NSERC’s CREATE program offers a collaborative and multidisciplinary training and mentorship opportunity that helps motivated young researchers develop a range of important professional and research skills. Ultimately, this experience helps research trainees make the leap into meaningful careers in academia, industry, government, and beyond.”

Alejandro Adem, President, NSERC

This year’s grant recipients will provide training experiences to students and postdoctoral fellows in fields of importance to Canada, ranging from 3D printing technology and corrosion science, to sustainable water services and medical device design innovation. Among the grantees is an initiative in the international stream, which will provide training from Canadian and German partners in the field of 2D-materials architectures.
