The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and the US National Science Foundation (NSF) are pleased to announce a new call for proposals that will support Canadian university researchers in the natural sciences and engineering fields working with university researchers from the US on use-inspired research.
The NSF Designing Materials to Revolutionize our Future (DMREF) program offers a unique opportunity for Canadian academic researchers to build interdisciplinary teams of researchers from Canada and the US working together to build the fundamental knowledge base needed to harness the power of materials data and educate, train and connect the next generation of materials researchers.
DMREF emphasizes a deep integration of experiments, computation, and theory; the use of accessible digital materials data across the materials development continuum; and strengthening connections among theorists and experimentalists.
Eligible Canadian researchers may apply for up to $100,000/year for four years from NSERC to support their research activities. Applications should be submitted via NSERC’s online system using the NSERC-DMREF application template. Applications must be received by February 4, 2025, 8:00 p.m. (ET). Please read the funding opportunity description for more details. For more information, please contact DMREF@nserc-crsng.gc.ca.
