New funding for research teams to study resilience in rapidly changing Arctic ecosystems

NSERC is pleased to participate in a new Belmont Forum funding opportunity to study the resilience of Arctic ecosystems in the face of climate change.

Eligible Canadian applicants (or groups of applicants) can request up to a maximum of $75,000 per year, for up to 3 years. A total of up to $900,000 is available.

The funding will support transdisciplinary teams of natural and social scientists and importantly, Arctic stakeholders that will not only conduct research, but use the results to spur action, inform decision-making, and translate into solutions for resilience.

For this funding opportunity, the term "stakeholder" is used in its broadest possible sense, allowing for co-development of projects with partners from, but not limited to, civil society, government, industry, NGOs, and Indigenous organizations.
