New features added to Technology Access Centre grants

We are pleased to announce that new features have been added to the Technology Access Centre (TAC) grants, which remain as one of five streams of the newly redesigned Tri-agency College and Community Innovation (CCI) program.
Technology Access Centres are specialized centres of expertise intended to provide timely innovation support to a college's community organizations by enabling them to take advantage of the college's expertise, technology and equipment, and leading to beneficial business, social and/or health outcomes for Canada. TAC grants now include new elements such as:
- A new merit evaluation criterion for student training.
- A broadened range of client types to include organizations from the private, public, health care or not-for-profit sectors.
- Increased emphasis on the TACs' provision of services on a fee-for-service or fee-for-research basis.
- New EDI elements in the merit evaluation criteria related to student training and applied research competence.
- A limited number of three centres per college.
- Advisory board committees kept on a voluntary basis.
These additions support the CCI program's ongoing efforts to increase connectivity within the research and innovation ecosystem, develop tri-agency collaboration, expand the range of partner organizations, and create more training opportunities for college students.
