The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) is delighted to announce the recent appointment of three members to its Council:
- Dr. Jean-Pierre Perreault, Université de Sherbrooke
- Dr. Madison Rilling, Optonique, Québec’s photonics cluster
- Dr. Nur Zincir-Heywood, Dalhousie University
The addition of these highly distinguished individuals will further bolster the rich and diverse expertise of Council as it works toward maximizing the strategic impact of Canada’s investments in scientific and engineering research.
The new members were selected using the Governor in Council appointments process. This open, transparent and merit-based process aims to help NSERC achieve gender parity by filling positions with highly qualified candidates who reflect Canada’s diversity.
The Council is composed of NSERC’s President and up to 18 other members appointed from the private and public sectors. It is advised by various standing and advisory committees that are guided by a peer review process.
