NSERC On-line System Overview

The NSERC On-line System provides applicants from Canadian academic institutions with the capability to create applications and submit them electronically to NSERC. Another goal of the system is to allow authorized institutional representatives, such as Research Grants Officers, Master Scholarships Liaison Officers and Master Liaison Officers, to access, browse, approve and submit grant and scholarship applications to the Council. The system also allows Master Scholarships Liaison Officers and Master Liaison Officers to assign the same privileges to other Scholarships Grants Officers and Liaison Officers at the institution, as well as to assign access and browsing privileges to their respective assistants. The On-line System:

• improves services to academic institution administrators;
• improves efficiency both at institutions and at NSERC;
• facilitates the sharing of information between applicants and institution administrators; and
• increases control and reduces the risks of error involved in manual processes.
